Assembly Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi, met on Tuesday a delegation of Turkey’s National Assembly, headed by Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister, Emrullah Ishler.

Among the other issues, they discussed the reserved seats of the Turkish community at the Assembly of Kosovo. Ishler has requested extension of these seats for the next two legislations. Speaking about this issue, Krasniqi stated that this would require changes of the Constitution of Kosovo.  “One deputy more or less from the Turkish community at the Assembly of Kosovo, would in no way change the friendly position of Kosovo’s population for this community in our country,” said Krasniqi.

They also spoke about the discussions between Kosovo and Serbia. Ishler said that he hopes that all EU countries would recognize Kosovo after the conclusion of these discussions. He assessed Turkish investments in Kosovo as very positive, stressing especially works on infrastructure. He pledged that he would encourage investors from his country to be more present in Kosovo.
