The President of Kosovo Central Election Commission (CEC) Valdete Dhaka said that Gorani political party “Unified Union of Gorani” (JUG) is not registered because the name of the party reminds of the former Yugoslavia.

“In our yesterday’s meeting we did not register the party because of the name that too much reminds on the former Yugoslavia. We gave them instructions to change the name,” said Dhaka to BETA.

She said that representatives of the parties have the right to re-apply for registration.

Asked whether the party registration can be completed by the upcoming parliamentary elections in Kosovo this year, Dhaka has responded that CEC has not registered many parties and the Gorani party will be registered until the election if they change the name.
