Waiting for justice (Kosova Sot)

The front-page editorial of this daily claims that Kosovo officials never avoided justice. Kosovo Parliament voted for establishment of the Special Court, Kosovo politicians have always acted with maturity towards international justice while former KLA leaders, currently active politicians, faced the Hague Tribunal or justice in Kosovo, some even twice. None of them avoided justice. Kosovo should clear any suspicion or accusation while crimes and perpetrators should face justice, no matter who they are.

However, justice should not be biased nor aim some kind of balance with Serbia. KLA fought for the freedom and independence of Kosovo, against Milosevic’s brutal regime. The entire world is ware of Serbia’s ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. Individuals responsible for violent offences should face justice, and evidence of the Task Force will assess their eventual guilt. However, it is important to make a distinction between a just war and abusing individuals who aimed power, money etc. Let the justice say its word, and let us never forget that majority of Serb criminals who killed, massacred and burned, never faced the court.
