Mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakic stated that Albanians openly wish to provoke clashes with Serbs in that town.
According to him intentions of Albanians from southern Mitrovica was to set on fire former premises of the municipality of Kosovska Mitrovica by throwing Molotov cocktails.
“That is equal to an attempted murder of people who were in the building. Civil Protection staffers were in the building, it is about legal institution which assists citizens of North Mitrovica and entire northern Kosovo,” Rakic said. In the same time he condemned recent incidents in Kosovo and Metohija and those in central Serbia, and warned that much more serious consequences can follow unless Albanians from southern Mitrovica don’t stop with provocations.
