The Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo, Marko Djuric, asked the Head of UNMIK, Farid Zarif, to further encourage KFOR, EULEX and Pristina institutions, to provide safety for Serbs in the province.

After the meeting with Zarif, he addressed journalists and said that incidents which occurred after the football match between the Serbian and Albanian national teams in Belgrade, as well as incidents against Serbs in Kosovo, and those against Albanians in other parts of Serbia, deserve condemnation.

Djuric said that he conveyed a message to his interlocutor that, considering that KFOR, EULEX and the OSCE are operating under UN auspices, “our expectation is that he should further encourage those who are in charge of providing safety for Serbs” to do more.
