Editor Enis Veliu writes that all current economic parameters are warning about a serious economic crisis that can hit Kosovo in the next couple of months, despite the fact that some government officials are trying to deny this. “A recent public statement by outgoing Minister of Finance, Besim Beqaj, who said that the economic growth rate has dropped from 4.5 to 2.5 percent, clearly shows that the country has already entered a dangerous path that will have serious consequences for the economy … The economic situation is further deteriorating as a result of delays in the formation of new institutions … The speedy formation of new institutions is necessary to stop the negative trend in our country’s economy. However, if such delays continue, then our country will certainly face the same fate as Greece,” Veliu writes.
