Thaci: Coalition agreement will be implemented in entirety (RFE)

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said in an interview for Radio Free Europe that agreement between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) will be implemented in entirety and that he believed it will a stable coalition. “PDK’s coalition with LDK is in the interest of Kosovo and is not directed against anyone”, said Thaci adding that they will be open to cooperation with opposition parties.

He said that the beginning of the joint governance with LDK will be faced with serious challenges, in particular those directly related with obligations towards the international community like the establishment of the Special Court. At the same time, Thaci said fight against corruption and organized crime will continue but now united energy “I have faith that we will score greater success”.

Asked about the Special Court, Thaci stressed that Kosovo has nothing to hide and the sooner “unfair allegations” against Kosovo are resolved, “the better it will be for Kosovo and its citizens”.

Thaci also said that the dialogue with Belgrade will continue and that it is fortunate that LDK voted in favour of the Brussels Agreement. “I hope that the process for full normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations will be accelerated early next year and will end in Serbia’s recognition of Kosovo”, he said.
