Minister for Communities and Return in the Kosovo government, Dalibor Jevtic, met today with former Minister of Telecommunications of Germany Dr. Schwarz-Schilling and familiarized him with the situation in the return process and with the Ministry’s activities, such as activities undertaken to ensure a safe return in Musutiste and Suva Reka/Suharekë Municipality.

“In the very last month we are taking the initiative to create working groups wherever the return is problematic due to the different situations. Some working groups are formed, such as for example the working group for return to Brdjani in Northern Mitrovica, and I hope that this will certainly make our job easier. We are working on how to form a working group in the village of Musutiste in the Municipality of Suva Reka, because we certainly want that the return process is absolutely transparent,” said Minister Jevtic.

After the meeting with Dr. Schwarz-Schilling, the Minister for Communities and Return met with the head of UNDP in Kosovo, Andrew Russell, and discussed community stabilization projects, specifically the aid provided through projects across the municipalities of Istok/Istog, Štrpce/Shtërpcë and Dragaš/Dragash.

“I often say that the economy and employment of people is very important issue of return and survival. That is why I proposed, and suggest the formation of agricultural cooperatives. One of the very best places for such a cooperative is a returnee place Osojane in Istok Municipality, while in the Municipality of Štrpce, as one of the municipalities in which agriculture is booming, we can support farmers by providing advice on the way forward”, said Minister Jevtic. Minister Jevtic said he would be happy to cooperate in all fields with UNDP because it is in the interest of all communities not only returnees.
