The head of Serbia’s negotiating team with the EU, Tanja Miscevic said that this week will be in the light of reactions to the latest action plans for Chapters 23 and 24. “First Director for the Western Balkans in the European Commission, Jean Eric Paquet, will talk in Belgrade on the subject at the ministerial level, and then the talks will continue at the technical level. This will be an opportunity to present what has been done in the past in the areas covered by Chapters 23 and 24,” said Miscevic.
In order for Serbia to open the first negotiating chapters with the EU, she said, we need to show that the action plans for areas 23 and 24 – Justice and Security – are credible and implementable, and to continue dialogue with Pristina.
When asked when will be known the contents of the so-called Chapter 35 on Kosovo, Miscevic said that “according to what we know, and we know very little, because this is a completely new chapter in the negotiating process, the criteria for the opening have not been determined.” “What we should do is to implement the Brussels agreement. I hope that the EU will recognize the commitment of Serbia towards the formation of the ZSO (Community / Association of the Serb municipalities), so that the last items of the Brussels Agreement could begin to be implemented,” she said.
