Mustafa: Light should be shed on post-war murders

It is still is not clear as when the Government of Kosovo will re-proceed the constitutional amendments that opens way to Special Court’s establishment to the Assembly.

The Prime Minister Isa Mustafa does not know the day or the date, either. He said that they are working with all the caucuses to coordinate their actions.

Mustafa once again reverted to post-war murders, saying that they own to victims and families to shed light on their fate. He made these comments following the commemorative academy on the 17th anniversary of Loxha Battle.

Indictment filed against eight persons for misuse of position

The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment against eight persons on Monday, among them, a former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, a Director of the Pharmaceutical Department at the Ministry of Health, a former manager of the Procurement Department at this Ministry, three officials at the capacity of members of the committee for contract oversight, and against two co-owners of a private business.

The defendants are accused of committing the criminal offences of misuse of position or official authority, deceit and tax evasion. The indictment has to do with four activities of public procurement initiated by the Ministry of Health during 2011. Due to these illegal activities the Kosovo budget was damaged for EUR 700.000.

KTV learned that the names of the persons who have been indicted include the former Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health Ilir Tolaj; Procurement Director at the Ministry of Health Zenel Kuqi, Director of the Pharmaceutical Department at the Ministry of Health Bekim Fusha, Valentina Haxhija, Remzije Thaçi and Florije Tahiri, an inspector.

While, according to KTV sources, the owners of the company that the indictment was filed against are Shpend Agani and Arion Lleshi.

President Jahjaga received representatives of Kosovo Women Caucus Board

The President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga received on Monday representatives of Kosovo Women Caucus Board, headed by Blerta Deliu-Kodra, as well as the Board Members – Time Kadrijaj and Valbona Bytyqi.

President Jahjaga congratulated the new Board emphasizing the importance of its work and expressed her commitment to support the Women Caucus in all activities related to empowerment of women and achievement of gender equality.

The President of the Women Caucus Board, Deliu-Kodra, said that the Women Caucus will continue to work with increased intensity in representation of women and her empowerment in politics, both at the central and the local level.

She expressed her gratitude to President Jahjaga for her support and added that women in the institutions must work together to achieve equality in society.

Door of Orthodox Church in Dërsnik damaged

(RTK2& Klan Kosova)

The door of Orthodox Church in Dërsnik village of Klinë/Klina municipality has been damaged. This made Klinë/Klina mayor Sokol Bashota, escorted by the deputy mayor Enver Maloku, police commander Rexhë Berisha and the Head of the Office for Return Milorad Sarkovic to jointly visit the site.

Talking from the site, mayor Bashota strongly condemned this act considering it as a vandal one, while he called on police and investigation bodies to engage in identification of offenders. He said that justice should deal with them and give them adequate sentence. Klinë/Klina municipality took over the responsibility to repair the damaged door.

Minister for communities and return, Dalibor Jevtic, discussed this incident with Kosovo Police commander in Klinë/Klina, while he also expects a detailed report about all cases of attacks and burglaries in Klinë/Klina from the interior minister Skender Hyseni.

Gracanica/Graçanicë mayor condemns attack on Kishnicë villagers

Following the attack against Krstic family, Kishnicë villagers are worried about their safety.

Mayor of Gracanica/Graçanicë, Vladeta Kostic, strongly condemned the attack and called on police to protect the five Serb families in this area.

The complete report from the Gracanica/Graçanicë municipality Local Public Safety Committee (LPSC) meeting was handed over to the police. The report calls on police to arrest the attackers of Krstic family, but it also calls for an increased police presence in this area.

Mayor of Gracanica/Graçanicë, Vladeta Kostic, underlined that another extraordinary meeting of the LPSC has been planned, which, according to him, would give results. Otherwise, Kostic said that overall security situation in the municipality is relatively calm.

RTK2 tried to get additional information from Kosovo Police regarding the status of these investigations, but KP Spokesperson did not respond to their phone calls.

Kosovo Police increases its presence in Kosovo north

Presence of Kosovo Police members in northern part of Kosovo has been increased, in particular in multi-ethnic areas.

Kosovo Police regional chief of operations, Zeljko Bojic, said that presence of police officers was increased upon the order from General Police Directorate in Prishtinë/Pristina, and that police officers were deployed with the aim of acting preventively.

Bojic said that security level was particularly increased in multi-ethnic areas, not willing to say if this was done due to terrorist attack threats.
