Today the opposition manifests “For the Republic” (media)
Three opposition parties, Vetevendosje Movement, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), will hold today a manifestation to express their opposition to the agreement for the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities, signed in Brussels by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa.
At the manifestation, which was set on the Day of Independence of Albania, they will also oppose the agreement for the demarcation of Kosovo’s border with Montenegro, which has not reached the Kosovo Assembly for its ratification yet.
The three opposition parties have opposed these agreements with protests and different actions at the Assembly of Kosovo. The event was announced to take place at “Zahir Pajaziti” square, at 14:00 hours.
After their meeting on Thursday, the leaders of these three parties announced that their protest would be peaceful.
Jahjaga: Solutions within institutions, not in the streets (KosovaPress)
On the Day of Kosovo Security Forces and in the verge of 28 November, the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, said that Kosovo has no time to waste and that everyone should engage on working harder. “We have many processes in front of us, which require maximal engagement of all our institutions, the government, the Assembly and I have stressed, especially during these two last months, that the street was never a solution and that this is seriously affecting the processes that our country is going through and the image of our country,” Jahjaga said. She added that problems are solved within the institutions, not in the streets.
Kosovo Police mobilized for 28 November (media)
The Spokesperson of Kosovo Police, Agron Borovci, said on Thursday that police forces are prepared for 28 November, being that they expect a great flux of people in Pristina. “The number could be big tomorrow, being that Pristina is the main city. There are also many concerts and parties, therefore we will be active tomorrow during the entire day, to help the citizens,” Borovci said and called on people of Kosovo not to hesitate to seek their assistance.
Borovci did not answer directly on whether they would intervene to arrest Kosovo Assembly deputies, Albin Kurti, Albulena Haxhiu and Faton Topalli. “Kosovo Police is a serious organization, and sometimes it makes its decisions ad-hock by analyzing the situation. Considering the complexity of tomorrow’s situation, we are prepared for anything. But police should not be an obstacle, we do not violate any manifestation or organizing.
Speaking about the bomb alarms on Thursday, Borovci said the alarms for bombs at Viva Fresh Store supermarket were false, “however police does not dare to neglect such alarms.”
