Former Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun said that the article published in New York Times talks about the influence of Saudi Arabia on the Islamists and Wahhabism, adding that funding the jihadists should be prevented. “This article presents a factual situation, but it is also the truth that the media were silent after I presented a document about the network of radical Islam that was backed up by Saudi Arabia, in 2007”, says Drecun.

The document identified individuals and a bunch of NGOs, led by Saudi Arabia, whose leaders have worked with Bin Laden. These organizations promote education and medical assistance, while money serves for building mosques. Drecun said that it is interesting that KFOR arrested 12 members of the organization, which still is not banned. “The organization was renamed when I published the document, but they founded local organizations that recruit people. That is the “Al Harami” from Saudi Arabia, which Haradinaj brought to Kosovo, and has direct ties to Al-Qaeda”, adds Drecun.

He points out that Thomas Gambill, Head of the OSCE Security Section from 1999 to 2004, publicly said that Saudi service gives instructions in Kosovo.
