Municipal Assembly of Deçan/Dečani held today an extraordinary meeting regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court on the properties around Deçan/Dečani Monastery. Both the coalition government and opposition assessed that except for being illegal, shameful and discriminating for Deçan/Dečani citizens the decision of the Constitutional Court among other issues, impedes economic development of this city.
Mayor of this municipality said during his speech that the legal representative of the municipality claimed that there is still legal space to contest the decision of the Constitutional Court.
The Municipal Assembly has established a commission which is drafting a statement that expresses the political will of the Deçan/Dečani municipal assembly, which objects in all manners implementation of this decision. In the meantime, Deçan/Dečani leadership, representatives of the Non-Governmental Organizatons and many citizens, announced for tomorrow a protest in front of the Monastery, to continue in this manner objection of the decision of the Constitutional Court.
