The coalition against the President (Zeri)

The paper recalls that Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, said on Thursday that the Kosovo Assembly should pass the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro in the next ten days. Partners of the ruling coalition, however, are now saying that this is not possible, because a broader consensus is needed to secure the necessary votes in parliament. Representatives of the ruling coalition also said there are disagreements between the partners on the matter. Bajram Gecaj, advisor to Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, told the paper that there is no decision yet on when the border agreement will be sent to the Assembly. PDK parliamentary group deputy chief, Elmi Recica, said he does not believe the agreement will be sent to the Assembly next week, citing the lack of votes.

AAK: Government should send demarcation back to point zero (Epoka)

The parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) issued a press release on Friday expressing concern over what it called inactivity of the Kosovo Government and the Prime Minister on the border demarcation with Montenegro. “Now that new facts have been presented and after a considerable number of MPs are hesitating to vote in favor of the demarcation agreement, we call on the Prime Minister and the Government to send back the issue to point zero. The Government should urgently review the matter together with Montenegro, so that the country can address other and much more important matters. The AAK parliamentary group at the same time calls on all MPs to use their influence with the aim of untying the demarcation knot. Every delay in finding a fair solution to the matter will cause further damage to Kosovo,” the press release noted.

KLA War Veterans want new committee to review veterans’ list (Epoka)

The chairman of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans, Smajl Elezaj, told the paper on Friday that his organization welcomes the initiation of procedures for investigating the lists of war veterans. “We welcome the investigation by the State Prosecution. As you know, the KLA War Veterans, one year ago called on the State Prosecution to investigate the process, because something went wrong with the verification of war veterans,” Elezaj said. He also suggested that a new and broad-based committee should be set up to review the lists of war veterans.

Gracanica municipal councilors demand dismissal of police commander (Koha)

Councilors of the Gracanica municipal assembly are demanding the dismissal of the police commander in their municipality, Bratislav Trajkovic. In their initiative, the councilors argued that there is lack of trust in the work of the police station and that the security situation in the municipality is decreasing. The information office of Gracanica municipality issued a media communique saying that the councilors voted unanimously in favor of the police commander’s dismissal.
