Kosovo responds to Montenegro for the note of protest

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Removal of the flag or the note of protest from Montenegro will not back Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) down. VV representatives said they will put the Albanian national flag and inscription “Welcome to the Republic of Kosovo” again at the same place where they did placed it few days earlier, which, according to them, is the true border with the Montenegrin state, KTV reported.

On the other hand, Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through a press release issued on Thursday, stated they have received a protest note regarding the ‘provocative’ behaviour at the border between Kosovo and Montenegro a few days ago.

MFA considered Montenegro’s reaction as hasty, emphasizing that there is no reason for change in relations.

“In the spirit of cooperation and excellent relations between our countries and understanding about this matter, Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that reaction by the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration was hasty and without any serious reason to be concerned as far as our mutual relations are concerned,” the MFA reaction reads.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs guaranteed Montenegro that Kosovo will continue to develop excellent relations and cases like this one do not intrude on these relations. “Everything will develop in the spirit of cooperation and open dialogue”, the reaction ends.
