US Vice President Biden to visit Kosovo on 17 August (Koha)

The US Vice President Joe Biden is expected to pay a visit to Kosovo on 17 August, KTV reported. Biden will meet the main political leaders in Kosovo and reconfirm the US unreserved support for independence of Kosovo.

Thaçi: Kosovo will sue Serbia for genocide (RTK)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, said in an interview for the Belgrade paper Danas that Kosovo will sue Serbia for genocide before the International Court of Justice. “We should not accuse one another but each party should take responsibility for their actions”, said Thaçi. He added that determining the fate of missing persons is vital for both Kosovo and Serbia.

Turkey warns Kosovo of terrorist attack threats (RFE)

Turkish authorities have warned the Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry of the threat of possible terrorist attack from the organization led by cleric Fetullah Gulen whom Ankara holds responsible for the recent attempted coup.  The letter sent to the foreign ministry bears the date of 23 July and urges Kosovo authorities to take security measures around Turkish cultural centres in different cities across Kosovo.

Shots in Pristina Beer Fest spark panic leaving 50 inured (dailies)

Around 50 persons are reported to have sustained minor injuries last night in Pristina while fleeing the Beer Fest event after hearing shots being fired. Kosovo Police recovered bullet casings at the site but has not yet arrested anyone in connection to the incident. It said the investigations are ongoing.
