GENEVA (7 September 2016) – The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human rights of internally displaced persons, Chaloka Beyani, will undertake a visit to Serbia and Kosovo from 11 to 15 September 2016 to review the human rights situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs). He will follow-up on the recommendations made in his 2013 report** to the UN Human Rights Council.

“Many years after the first wave of displacement, IDPs are still facing problems of access to land, housing, property, and prospects for durable solutions,” Mr. Beyani said, recalling his previous visit to Serbia and Kosovo.

“During my visit, I will consider progress made regarding the protection and assistance provided to all IDPs. I will also examine all possible options to achieve durable solutions for IDPs,” Mr Beyani added.

During his five-day visit, Mr. Beyani will meet with relevant authorities, civil society organisations and UN partners, among others. He will visit Belgrade and Pristina, and will consult directly with IDPs and host communities themselves in various locations.

At the end of his visit, Mr. Beyani will issue a statement with his findings.

As a Special Rapporteur, he is part of the Special Procedures of Human Rights Council. Eksperti i OKB-së për persona të zhvendosur brenda vendit riviziton Serbinë dhe Kosovën ^*

GJENEVË (7 shtator 2016) – Raportuesi Special i Organizatës së Kombeve të Bashkuara për të Drejtat e Njeriut të personave të zhvendosur brenda vendit, Chaloka Beyani, do të vizitojë Serbinë dhe Kosovën prej 11 deri më 15 shtator 2016 për të vlerësuar gjendjen e të drejtave të njeriut të personave të zhvendosur brenda vendit (PZHBV). Ekspert Ujedinjenih nacija za interno raseljena lica najavljuje ponovnu posetu Srbiji i Kosovu*

ŽENEVA, 8. septembar 2016.– Specijalni izvestilac Ujedinjenih nacija za ljudska prava interno raseljenih lica Čaloka Bejani posetiće Srbiju i Kosovo* u periodu od 11. do 15. septembra 2016. godine kako bi ocenio stanje ljudskih prava interno raseljenih lica. On će se osvrnuti na preporuke koje je dao u svom izveštaju** koji je podneo Savetu za ljudska prava Ujedinih nacija 2013. godine.

„Mnogo godina nakon prvog talasa raseljavanja, interno raseljena lica se i dalje suočavaju sa problemima koji se odnose na pristup zemljištu, stanovanje, imovinu, i izglede za trajna rešenja”, rekao je gospodin Bejani, prisećajući se svoje prethodne posete Srbiji i Kosovu.

„Tokom ove posete, razmatraću napredak koji je učinjen u pogledu zaštite i pomoći koja se pruža svim interno raseljenim licima. Razmotriću isto tako i sve moguće opcije koje postoje za uspostavljanje trajnih rešenja za interno raseljena lica“, dodao je gospodin Bejani.

Tokom petodnevne posete, gospodin Bejani će se sastati sa nadležnim institucijama, organizacijama civilnog društva i UN partnerima, između ostalih. Posetiće Beograd i Prištinu, i direktno će razgovarati i sa interno raseljenim licima kao i zajednicama u kojima oni žive, a koje se nalaze na raznim lokacijama.

Na samom kraju posete, gospodin Bejani će objaviti saopštenje o nalazima svoje posete.
