Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Arben Gashi, told Klan Kosova today that if the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) decides to go to early parliamentary elections, the LDK will respect the decision of their ruling coalition partner. “I don’t think Kadri Veseli [PDK leader] has indicated early elections yet. There is no final decision. We need to wait and then the LDK will have two options, either find another partner in government or go to early elections. We will respect the decision of the Democratic Party,” Gashi said. “Neither the PDK nor LDK can keep one another in the coalition by force. If the PDK decides to leave the coalition then so be it”. Klan Kosova recalls that Veseli recently said that early elections are considered an option to emerge from the current political crisis in Kosovo. On the other hand, Isa Mustafa, Prime Minister of Kosovo and LDK leader, said elections will be held in accordance with the constitutional timelines, namely local elections in 2017 and general elections in 2018.
