Kosovo Assembly MP from the Serbian List, said during an extensive interview for lajmi.net that his party does not have a stance on creation of the army of Kosovo. He considers that this issue is not a priority. “We are far from any kind of discussions and there are absolutely minor chances to have discussions regarding the army in the future. I am alluding to all Serbian MPs, and there is too little space to at least initiate discussions let alone decide,” said Rašić and added that the government has lost trust that should have been built among partners. “If trust ever existed, it doesn’t exist anymore,” he said.
Asked about how he sees integration of Serbs in Kosovo and if Belgrade is holding their integration hostage, Rašić said that a number of Serbs is already integrated, but majority is not. He said that integration to a great extent depends on Pristina’s will, “because Serbs, especially in the north have never had another alternative except of being part of the system there. And if we offer them e reform and if we start building trust or offer them an alternative, they are aware and they will accept it, because it is for their benefit. But such thing has not happened, the government or the parliamentary parties in this case, consider that integration should happen through politics however integration is something wider than that,” Rašić said.
Speaking about visa liberalization, Rašić said that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is the main cause of the delays on visa liberalization. He said that majority of the MPs from this party are against the demarcation of the border with Montenegro, therefore it is absurd when the leader of this party accuses the others for the delays. “Ever since the initial session on demarcation, in September, we never had a meeting with the Prime Minister. He is only fifty meters away from us, but there was no will,” he said.
Asked whether he considers that Kosovo would lose territory with the current agreement on demarcation,Rašić said that he did not follow this process with much attention, but that based on the TV debates, he came to a conclusion that the demarcation is not done precisely.
He also suspected that the request to the EU to make demarcation a condition for visa liberalization came from Kosovo, explaining that this was not the case during liberalization of visas for the countries in the region.
