The political representatives of Serbs from northern Kosovo tonight have accused the mayor of Leposavić/Leposaviq Dragan Jablanović to lead anti Serbian politics and that his task is ”breaking the unity of the Serbian people in the north Kosovo and Metohija”.

The statement, signed by the Minister Ljubomir Marić, representatives of local governments from northern Kosovo Zoran Todić, Ivan Todosijević, Stevan Vulović, Aleksandar Spirić, and Mayors Stevan Vulović, Vučina Janković and Goran Rakić reads that “for a long time they have been receiving the information on his illegal activities, contacts with foreign intelligence services and Kosovo secret police.”

“Jablanovic stated that he distanced himself from the decision, of all relevant Serb political representatives in the north, to interrupt relations with KFOR, Jablanović has condemned himself to isolation and as of today, as we are concerned, he does not exist politically,” the statement said.

They are saying further that “no one believed that Jablanović would be so shameless to practically support the decision of KFOR to smuggle into the Northern Kosovo the political establishment of Pristina which is preventing the formation of Community/Association of Serb municipalities, which represents a public slap in the face to Serb people here.”

”If we add to this, the attempt to install the health care and education systems against the will of people in Leposavić municipality, something that Jablanović has been diligently working on in the recent past, it is clear that he no longer has a single basis to act as a representative of the interests of the Serbian people,” the press release concludes.

Jablanović claims that he was not consulted concerning the statement of the office of the mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakić, on the termination of cooperation with KFOR, adding that it was not the first time that Rakic issues statements on behalf of all the mayors.
