The announcement of the Mayor of Mitrovica north Goran Rakić says that the existing support wall near the Ibar/Ibër River bridge would be redesigned or transformed into an outdoor amphitheatre that will be part of the pedestrian zone in King Peter Street in the northern part of Mitrovica. This was announced after the meeting held in EU office between the technical teams for the implementation of agreement on the bridge over the Ibar/Ibër River in Mitrovica.

“Both sides have very constructively presented the facts which have contributed that this meeting resulted in finding the best solution while the representatives of European Union have helped to harmonize the mutually acceptable agreement” Rakić said.

Rakić says that despite the fact that “Kosovo Minister for dialogue with Belgrade Edita Tahiri presents falsehoods by announcing the demolition of the wall in the northern part of the city, who for the umpteenth time, grossly violates the reached agreement, Serbian delegation was pleased today with agreed solution on the design, which, again we emphasize, does not imply any demolition of the wall.”

“The bridge over the Ibar, in accordance with earlier agreements, will not be open before completion of the pedestrian zone in King Peter Street, or the creation of security preconditions for its opening to traffic,” Rakić concluded.
