Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Nezir Çoçaj, said at the extraordinary Assembly session today on Astrit Dehari’s case that they have gathered to discuss a tragic case, which should have been held after the conclusion of the investigation on the grenade attack on the Assembly of Kosovo. “This is what Asrtit Dehari together with other Vetëvendosje activists was arrested for,” he said.
“We should have concluded the investigation on his death and in case that it would qualify as a suicide, as the autopsy report says, we should have had additional investigation on the reasons that lead him to undertake such an act,” Çoçaj said.
He further said that it is unfortunate that Vetëvendosje is intentionally disregarding evidence, intentionally misinterpreting the case, and intentionally building stories that suit them. He said that Vetëvendosje does not accept the forensics autopsy report or the investigation of Kosovo justice authorities.
“In fact, Vetëvendosje does not accept anything from Kosovo. It does not accept the state, the flag, or symbols. Vetëvendosje in fact accepts only one thing from Kosovo: its money. It does not refuse that. Vetëvendosje MPs accept Kosovo salaries, while rejecting anything else that is Kosovar. This is Vetëvendosje. They can do anything. But it is unforgivable to play over the dead,” Çoçaj said.
