In Mitrovica North yesterday was registered autonomous regional political movement “Fatherland”. This movement consist of former members of the Provincial Committee of the Democratic Party of Serbia with 12 municipal committees and members of political parties, the Democratic Party, Serbian Progressive Party and the Socialist Party of Serbia.
According to the announcement of this movement, “Fatherland” will strive for the survival of the institutions of the Serbian state in Kosovo and Metohija, respect of the Serbian Constitution and Resolution 1244, which states that Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia.
The seat of the People’s Movement of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija “Fatherland” will be in North Mitrovica, and prof. Dr. Aleksandar Vasić was elected the president of this movement.
