An unexploded explosive device, most probably a hand grenade, was found this morning in the yard of the town water supply system on the road to Suvi Do village in Mitrovica North Municipality.
Kosovo Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit is attending the scene and will carry out the controlled explosion. According to Kosovo Police spokesperson, Besim Hoti, the bomb was apparently thrown few days ago and the pin is missing.
The Chairperson of the Interim Municipal Council Provisional Body of Kosovska Mitrovica, Aleksandar Spirić, stated that the explosive device has disturbed the residents. “We believe that this yet another obstruction from the Albanian authorities, because to deliberately cause a malfunction of the water supply, which is the only water supply facility of inhabitants in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, presents a violation of the basic living conditions”, said Spirić said in the press statement.
