The Minister for Communities and Return, Dalibor Jevtić, met in Pristina with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muižnieks, and briefed him on current situation when it comes to displaced persons, creation of conditions for their return, as well as on problems faced by those who returned and their reintegration.

Jevtić acquainted his counterpart with his concerns due to the insufficient return in 2016, which was influenced, to great extent, by incidents that took place last year in returnee villages, and which are still occurring. He particularly highlighted bad examples of places Mušutište and Đakovica, when it comes to problems with regard to safety and freedom of movement of returnees.

The Minister added that one of the biggest obstacles to return remains usurped property since many displaced persons are still not able to enjoy their own property. However, Jevtić said that certain progress was marked in last couple years when it comes to Roma community.
