Following recent statement of the Kosovo President Hashim Thaci that decision should be made soon on the creation of the Kosovo armed forces, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić said to RTS that this is not possible without the votes of the Serbian List MPs.
“They are not entitled to create the armed forces by the (UNSC) Resolution 1244. Such decision would be illegal. The only armed forces that can exist in Kosovo and Metohija are armed forces of the United Nations, that is, KFOR”, said Dačić.
“This would be additional factor of destabilization. We will fight with all political means for this not to take place. If the Serbian List MPs vote in line with the interest of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, they will not support the creation of Kosovo army”, said Dačić.
He reflected on Ramush Haradinaj’s case and said that he is a war criminal. “He can use many words to defend himself, however the fact is that he is a war criminal and nothing can release him from this responsibility,” said Dačić, and added that it is about crimes committed after the arrival of UNMIK and KFOR to Kosovo and that he expects that court will rule on the legal merits not political orders.
