Northern Kosovo is the latest place where people are making satirical YouTube videos about US President Donald Trump’s slogan “America first”.
“America first, but North Kosovo ahead of Kosovo,” is the slogan of a new satirical video made in the northern, Serb-run part of Kosovo – playing on US President Donald Trump’s election slogan of “America First”.
“We have two governments, both claim the right to possess us, yet no one really cares about us,” the video, meaning Serbia and Kosovo.
It also takes aim at the local Serbian politicians who it says love getting money from both governments, Serbian and Kosovo Albanian.
“They really love the huge money they receive … from both governments … and from the Europeans,” the video says.
The video also mocks the controversial wall built on the northern side of the Ibar river bridge in the town of Mitrovica by local Serbs, which has since been demolished under an agreement reached with the Kosovo government.
“The wall was there to protect us from neighbours, Mexicans, Albanians, they are all the same,” the video says, referring to Trump’s plan to complete a wall on the southern border of the US, to keep out illegal Mexican and Latin American immigrants.
Kosovo Albanians are presented in the video as “complete losers”, citing the emotional connection between the Kosovo Albanians and the Clintons – former president Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary.
