RTS reports today that Vučić has said at a press conference in Kopaonik, when asked about last night’s phone conversation with Thaçi that they did not agree on key issues, notably the formation of the Kosovo army which as he said violates the Resolution 1244 but also was contrary to the Kosovo’s constitution. He pointed that he expected help of the EU, US and Russia and said that those were big things for someone to play with.
Vučić says that only possible way for Serbia to influence is politically, and by diplomatic means, noting that, according to the Brussels agreement, there is a guarantee of NATO that armed forces of Kosovo should not set foot in North of Kosovo without the decision of NATO and the local population.
Vučić said that he told the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini and Thaçi what he thought about it.
“I must admit that I do not understand many things that are happening in the Balkans, or in Macedonia I do not understand what are the real reasons for it, I do not understand nor all that comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, or this from Pristina, but you have to fight with it and look how to preserve the peace, security and stability of Serbia. That is our business,” said Vučić.
Asked what Mogherini has said, he replied that the conversation wasn’t easy, because there was one question which he has asked publicly, to which she had no answer.
“And what would happen if I have said after the lawsuit for genocide, that Serbs take matters into their own hands in BiH. Nobody in the international community has reacted to that when they have interfered in the affairs of other countries. It tells about double standards and different criteria. But anyway, we have to preserve peace and push forward, “said Vučić.
Vučić said that he hopes that Thaçi does not do this because of a pre-election campaign and the vote of the citizens.
Vučić said regarding verification of the operational capabilities of the part of Serbian Army, which began yesterday, that it was only verification and that was implemented in accordance with plans.
