Several news websites quote Nataliya Apostolova, head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, as saying that there will be no dividing wall in Mitrovica. “You can rest assured that there will be no wall dividing the renovated part of the road and the bridge over Ibar … There is ongoing construction and there is some speculation that a new wall will be built there but this is not true. This is the only structure that protects the pedestrian zone and it will be no higher than 40 – 60 centimeters with beautiful flowers and with standards that you can see in Western Europe,” she said.
