The U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo Greg Delawie, spoke at the conference “Kosovo Security Force – Perspective of the Future” organized by RIDEA Institute.

He said that the U.S. supports Kosovo’s legitimate right to defend itself.

“As your friend, I am telling you that forming the Army through the change of the draft-law is not the best for the future in NATO,” Delawie said.

He added that such an important matter should be resolved through dialogue and transparency.

“This dialogue should be inclusive and no one can use a veto. When I am saying inclusive, I do not want for my words to be misunderstood, I am not saying that you should discuss with Belgrade, you are an independent state and you should decide on your own. The U.S. will be a supporter for the dream of the creation of the Army to become a reality,” Delawie said.
