Bulliqi: Current version of Demarcation should be withdrawn

(KTV)

The proposal of 17 LDK MPs addressed to Prime Minister has drawn his attention and it is being reviewed by the Head of Executive and the governing coalition. This was confirmed to KTV by Prime Minister’s advisor, Faton Abdullahu.

In a written response, Abdullahu said that the proposal was also discussed with the international factor same as with the other parties in coalition.

Different from Adem Salihaj, the most articulated LDK MP against ratification of the Agreement on Border Demarcation with Montenegro, Shpejtim Bulliqi, says that this Agreement cannot be renegotiated. Bulliqi says that this version of border Demarcations should be withdrawn, as it was done wrong.

KTV has also contacted other LDK MP, but they did not want to talk about this matter. On the other hand, Vetëvendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu sees the proposal of LDK MPs as a political game.

The other two opposition parties, AAK and Nisma, also oppose this idea of LDK MPs. They see Government’s withdrawal from this Agreement as the only solution.

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, met in Brussels with the EU Foreign Policy Chief, Federica Mogherini, and the Enlargement Commissioner

Johannes Hahn with whom he discussed visa liberalisation process, Stabilisation and Association Agreement, and developments in the region.

According to a press release issued by MFA, the EU officials reiterated that Demarcation with Montenegro remains the only criterion for visa liberalisation.

Commissioner Hahn wrote on Twitter that he had a fruitful meeting with Minister Enver Hoxhaj, with whom he discussed latest developments in Kosovo and the Western Balkans.

On the other hand, Minister Hoxhaj expressed Kosovo’s interest to apply for candidate status for EU membership this year to Mogherini and Hahn.

US issues travel alert for Europe, Kosovo ranked as high risk destination

(Klan Kosova)

The U.S. State Department has concluded that risk from terrorism in Kosovo is high.

Americans issued a travel alert for their citizens for all of Europe regarding terrorist threats on this continent prior to the touristic season.

Destinations ranked as ‘extreme danger’ are Russia, Turkey (near the Syria border) and Ukraine, while Kosovo and other parts of Turkey were labelled as ‘high risk’ destinations.

Passports issued by Coordination Centre not recognised by Kosovo authorities

(RTK2, Klan Kosova)

Kosovo authorities have made it clear to touristic agencies transporting passengers with buses from Kosovo to Serbia and vice versa that they will no longer recognise passports issued in Serbia by the Coordination Centre for citizens of Kosovo.

This information was not confirmed to Radio Free Europe by the Ministry of Interior, but they addressed the issue to their colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who did not talk about this issue.

On the other hand, Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri said that passports of Coordination Centre have always been illegal for Kosovo authorities. Nevertheless, Tahiri said she was not aware if there was any new order regarding these passports.

Guy-Smith: Law on Special Court might be amended

(RTK)

The international lawyer, Gregor-Guy Smith, said that the Special Court is accountable to the Assembly of Kosovo.

In the “Interview with Blerim” show of Radio Television of Kosovo, he said that it is a bit curious that none of the judges and prosecutors involved come from Kosovo.

According to him, the other persons engaged are not from Kosovo either, such as translators, investigators, and so on. “The question is how it can be a local court. So, the Assembly of Kosovo has done this. Why did it establish this, I cannot answer this question,” he said.

Smith indicated that the Government has no possibility to audit this court. According to him, the archive is unlikely to belong to Kosovo. Nevertheless, he said that decisions are based on Kosovo’s laws.

Regarding the possibility of amending the Law on the Special Court, he said that this law can be amended if there are good experts. Smith said that the Court will definitely cause anxiety.

Gecaj: Government has regular contacts with Srpska List representatives

(RTK2)

Bajram Gecaj, advisor to Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, said that Government officials regularly meet with Srpska List representatives.

“We have regular meetings with Srpska List and we discuss all the open issues,” said Gecaj.

He did not tell if Srpska List MPs will support the ruling coalition in ratifying the Agreement on Border Demarcation with Montenegro.

Gecaj said that Slavko Simic of Srpska List has publicly said that he will support this Agreement.

Tahiri: Dialogue to conclude with Kosovo’s recognition

(RTK)

Kosovo Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that dialogue with Serbia should be held at higher level and then, as she said, it should enter the conclusion phase.

“I think that the dialogue should be of the highest level and comprehensive, similar as it was the case with Vienna talks,” said Tahiri in an exclusive interview for Radio Kosova, RTK portal reported.

Minister Tahiri said that with the release of AAK leader, Ramush Haradinaj, suspension of dialogue with Serbia has ended. She said that the resumption of dialogue should be done at two levels.

“First level is to discuss implementation of agreements that have not been implemented. In the meantime, a high political process should be prepared through which we should enter the final phase, respectively concluding the dialogue with Serbia,” Tahiri said.

She stressed that Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia is the final outcome of dialogue.

Minister Tahiri said that EU has not yet scheduled the date for resumption of talks.
