Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Naser Osmani, told the news agency today that if the LDK-PDK ruling coalition breaks up, the LDK will not recognize Hashim Thaci as President of Kosovo. Osmani said that the coalition agreement clearly stipulates that the ruling coalition must not support any motion aimed at bringing down the government. “Based on this agreement, the LDK voted in favor of Hashim Thaci’s election as President, the same way that PDK MPs voted in favor of Isa Mustafa’s election as Prime Minister. In the event of the breakup of the coalition, the LDK will not recognize Hashim Thaci as President and we will face a complicated situation,” he said. Osmani also said that the government is trying to send the demarcation agreement with Montenegro to the Assembly as soon as possible. According to Osmani, the LDK has secured its votes for the demarcation agreement, but that he does not know if the PDK has done the same.
