Bodo Weber from the Berlin-based Democratization Policy Council writes in an op-ed for Balkan Insight that it is time for the West to come up with a master plan to counter the “feigning commitment” of leaders in Pristina and Belgrade towards the dialogue for normalization of relations. “The frequency of parallel elections in Kosovo and Serbia – with at least one of the two always holding a snap election – demonstrates the interrelationship between Western and domestic policy. They point to a tacit, hidden alliance in the Dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade aimed at gaming the system,” Weber writes.
