President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, expressed concern over reports of voter intimidation in the northern part of Kosovo in a meeting he had today with the chief observer of the EU Election Observation Mission in Kosovo, Alojz Peterle.

Thaci thanked the EU for accepting his invitation to deploy an observation mission for Kosovo parliamentary elections and that he was pleased with the way the election campaign was progressing. “I am hopeful we will yet again have an excellent electoral process”, Thaci said. He noted that whoever wins the elections, Kosovo will have a “pro-European, multiethnic, and stable government ready to continue reforms in all sectors”.

Peterle on his part said the EU has engaged 100 observers for Sunday elections and thanked the Central Election Commission and Kosovo institutions for their cooperation.
