Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, met today with a delegation from Iowa, led by Secretary for Agriculture, Bill Northey, and General Timothy Orr from the U.S. Iowa National Guard. Thaci said mutual visits are very important to further advance cooperation between the two countries. “Our relations with the United States of America will be forever special. Our cooperation with Iowa is a reflection of these relations. This cooperation is strengthening our state,” he said. The meeting also focused on the cooperation between the U.S. Iowa National Guard and the Kosovo Security Force. Thaci said the transformation of the KSF into an army is a constitutional right of Kosovo. He said no one can have the right of veto to the process and that this transformation is unstoppable. “We will conduct the transformation of the KSF in coordinated fashion,” Thaci added.
