Wolfgang Petritsch, the former European Union’s Envoy for Kosovo, told German media that the international community is determined to see through the special court that will address war crimes allegations in Kosovo. He said that this is a test for the European Union and the United States of America to show they are objective and equal toward all. “The International Criminal Court was a very important experience and a lesson to be learned. Perhaps they were not sufficiently prepared or informed about the fact that certain traditions in Albanian society are different from those in the West when it comes to court proceedings. Now they are aware of this and I am confident that the special court is going to be very important,” Petritsch was quoted as saying.
