Spokesperson and head of the Communication Service of specialized councils Avis Beneš told Belgrade based daily Politika that there are no legal obstacles to receiving the indictments or indictments of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, but she added that the prosecution still has no spokesperson.
Beneš told Politika that the official titles of this court are “Specialized Councils and Specialized Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo, and not the Special Court or KLA Crimes Court”.
In terms of mandate and jurisdiction, the court is competent only for individuals and individual liability, and will be dealing with crimes from January 1998 to the end of December 2000.

Beneš stated that there were no provisions on a specific nationality and that the court’s jurisdiction will be over persons who are from Kosovo, or the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY), or those who committed crimes in their real jurisdiction, that is, to persons who are from Kosovo , i.e. the FRY, wherever these acts were committed.
The Specialized Councils and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, which will deal with war crimes committed in Kosovo, will be leading the processes in The Hague.
Daily Politika writes today and that the first indictments can be expected only by the end of the year, and that the first round will not include ‘the big names’.
