Tanjug agency and Novosti daily reported on statements Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic made during an interview to Happy TV station, and related to the possible Kosovo solution.

Vucic expressed hope that Serbia would have enough strength to put things on a rational level and if it does not happen, Serbia would carry this defeat on its shoulders.

He further expressed concerns if Serbia would be able to carry out dialogue, scepticism on its success, but also added that such dialogue would be certainly initiated.

If Vucic is set to choose between frozen conflict and seeking solution, he would choose the second option.

“I am almost certain that we will not resolve the problem regardless of my wish to do it for the benefit and more effective Serbia,” Vucic stated.

He went on saying it is good to have myths, to think well of Serbia, but is also convinced that we have to live for our children and look towards the future.

“It does not mean we will recognize Kosovo. We have a pathological need to prolong the issues, and they just become worse as the time passes by. No one has courage to tell the truth openly,” he noticed and asked representatives of the civil society and politicians in Serbia, who are participating in a political life, to take part in discussion on this matter.

It is good to hear different stances on the matter, to hear it from all sided and then to find a middle solution in a sense what we can do, Vucic concluded.
