Haxhiu: We have 62 votes of MPs to constitute Government

(RTK)

PDK MP Bekim Haxhiu considers growth of Vetëvendosje Movement in June 11th elections as accidental, while he says that PDK-AAK-Nisma (PAN) coalition has the sufficient number of votes for constituting Government.

PAN coalition has the necessary votes to constitute the Government and this is already a done deal, Haxhiu told RTV Dukagjini’s InfoBox show.

He said that there are at least 62 numbers and that the Government will be voted in the first round.

Krasniqi: PAN wouldn’t stand VV in opposition longer than a year

(KTV)

Frashër Krasniqi, VV spokesperson and elected MP in the Kosovo Assembly, is convinced that PAN would not be able to stand VV in opposition longer than one year.

In a short post on his Facebook profile, he said that PAN cannot form a government without Srpska List.

“Sprska List does not join government without Zajednica [Serbian translation for Association]. They failed to make Zajednica even when they had 80 MPs, let alone with 61,” Krasniqi said.

“When VV had only 16 MPs, they were able to stand it only for two and half years. Now that VV has 32 MPs, they will not be able to stand it longer than one year. Ramush is failing to understand that the change has happened, regardless whether he has got the numbers or not,” Krasniqi added.

Tahiri: Thaçi’s invitation to political parties – normal rule

(RTK1)

Ramush Tahiri, political analyst, stated in an interview with RTK that President Thaçi’s invitation for meeting is a normal rule. Consequently, according to Tahiri, political parties have no reason to refuse the invitation.

On the other hand, Tahiri highlighted that the President is late in calling the constitutive Assembly session.

Ivanovic to Thaçi: It is not you that decide about dialogue

(RTK)

The SDP leader Oliver Ivanovic reacted following statements of the Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi that the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue will bring a historic agreement, RTK portal reported.

“Kosovo is an independent country to the extent that Serbia agrees with it, and they are aware of this whenever they request to join international organisations,” he said.

Ivanovic said that Thaçi’s statements about a historic agreement are nice words, but that will be found out at the end of the dialogue, Lajmi.net reports.

“He talks about something which is partly true, but I think that dialogue is only an opportunity to resolve some problems. Nevertheless, there are still many topics to be discussed, and I think that Prishtinë/Pristina does not ask just for anything at the roundtable,” Ivanovic added.

Ivanovic believes that Thaçi will continue leading the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, and he thinks that one should not ask for the dialogue to take place between Prime Ministers, because in that case discussions would have to happen with Ramush Haradinaj.

In regard to the Kosovo Army and the Association of Serb Municipalities, Ivanovic said that the key is in Serbs’ hands.

“NATO and the USA have made it clear that establishment of the army may happen only based on constitutional procedures, so Serbs have the key,” Ivanovic concluded.

Parties still haven’t paid their fines, risk certification for local elections

(RTK)

Political parties aiming the race of October local elections have not yet paid the fines issued to them for violations during the June 11th election campaign.

They have time until August 22 to make all payments, at the contrary; they risk non-certification for October’s local elections.

So far, out of the amount of 348,900 euros, only 3,700 have been paid. PAN coalition is the only one that has paid a symbolic sum compared to fines received, but it has not yet paid all the fines.

Failure to carry out this obligation can leave political parties without certification for local elections, RTK portal reported.

Mulë Desku, President of Elections Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) Secretariat, has once again drawn attention to the fact that political entities that do not pay fines risk non- certification in the October election process.

On the other hand, the application for certification of political entities for local elections to be held on October 22 has already been opened, yet none of the parties have submitted applications.

Mothers play crucial role in prevention of violent extremism

(TV21)

Besides community, mothers can play a crucial role in prevention of violent extremism. By bringing up their children, mothers can have a great impact on promoting tolerance.

This was one of the conclusions that derived from a roundtable held on Thursday with women activists in Kaçanik/Kacanik municipality, organised by the Security Policy Research Centre in cooperation with the NGO Forum in Kaçanik/Kacanik municipality and the Local Youth Action Council.
