Mustafa: PAN has neither votes nor people

(RTK)

The outgoing Prime Minister, who is at the same time the chairman of Democratic League of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, in a post on his Facebook profile, said that the PAN coalition does not have the numbers to form the Government.

“PDK’s New Start failed. Every new beginning starts at the end of an old beginning. And this beginning of PDK, which was self-denial, did not share the fate of this scientific truth. Numbers, for which the PAN Coalition is hunting, is a swallowing of criticisms that governance is not based on numbers,” Mustafa wrote on Facebook, RTK portal reported.

Further, Mustafa stressed that the PAN election result does not grant them the right to seek the government.

“In fact governance is based on people, but votes are numbers. PAN has neither the votes nor the people. In elections it received the support of the quarter of the voters, and a quarter of the vote does not represent any majority to claim establishment of the institutions. In this society, everyone should bear the consequences of its actions,” the LDK chairman wrote.

Few days have been left from the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo. Representatives of the PAN coalition are convinced that within a short time they will manage to consolidate Kosovo’s institutions and establishment of the Government.

For this matter, they say they have the numbers.

The leader of Nisma për Kosovën Initiative Fatmir Limaj said that the nominee for Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj is continuing his efforts for establishment of the Government and that in terms of numbers this is a matter that rather belongs to Haradinaj.

While the AAK’s elected MP, Pal Lekaj, is convinced that his leader Haradinaj has the numbers, although he says he feels sorry that MPs have already turned into numbers.

ON the other hand, political analysts stress that the Assembly should be constituted without causing blockades.

PAN does not know date for Government’s formation

(RTK)

Officials of the parties from PAN (PDK-AAK-Nisma) Coalition said that it is not yet decided as when formation of the new government will be voted.

Blerand Stavileci, a PDK official, said that a new era will start from August 3rd, with new institutions. He hinted at the date set for holding the constitutive session of the new legislature emerging from the June 11th early elections.

“The winning coalition will create new institutions,” Stavileci told Kallxo.com, adding that “the minute or the second when these decisions and actions are taken have little significance.”

In the meantime, official of the AAK, the other party of PAN coalition, Muharrem Nitaj, told Kallxo.com that it still has not been decided on the date of voting for the new Kosovo Government. “However, I do not believe that it will be voted on the same day,” he continued.

Assembly of Kosovo announced that it has invited all MPs to take part in legislative’s constitutive session which will be held on Thursday, RTK reported.

Germany supports any parliamentary majority that forms future government, VV says

(KTV)

Vetëvendosje’s nominee for Prime Minister Albin Kurti and MP Glauk Konjufca paid a visit to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Prishtinë/Pristina.

They were received by the outgoing Ambassador, Angelika Viets, and the First Secretary, Marten Menger, where they discussed the importance and possibilities of co-operation between Kosovo and Germany, both in the bilateral and in the European integration aspect.

Through a press announcement issued Vetëvendosje says that investment-oriented economic development and employment same as the rule of law to fight corruption and to protect the rights of citizens were the key topics of discussion.

“In particular it was also discussed about the political developments in Kosovo on the verge of the constitutive session of the sixth legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo,” the announcement reads.

According to VV, Ambassador Viets congratulated Kurti and Konjufca for the election result and expressed her dedication to support of any parliamentary majority that will form the future Government of Kosovo.

Constitutional Court 2014 judgement contains obscurities for constitution of Assembly

(KTV)

Failure to elect Kadri Veseli as the Assembly Speaker at the August 3rd session may create blocking situations in the Assembly, the Assembly performance monitors say.

In order to avoid such situations in the future, they call for MPs of the new legislature to send the 2014 judgment for revision to the Constitutional Court.

Albert Krasniqi of Kosovo Democratic Institute says that first of all the amendment of the Constitution should be initiated, and then the MPs can send the Constitutional Court’s judgment for revision.

Krasniqi says that revision of the judgment is urgent.

On the other hand, Isuf Zejna of Democracy Plus says that the Constitutional Court judgments may be reviewed by the Constitutional Court.

Zejna believes that the Constitutional judgment has left a lot of vacuum in the election of the Assembly Speaker.

In the 2014 Constitutional judgment, the right to propose a candidate for Assembly Speaker belongs to the coalition or party that has come out first in elections.

Kosovo Serbs support Vucic’s idea

(RTK1)

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister in Kosovo Government, Branimir Stojanovic, said that Kosovo Serbs support the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in the initiative to resolve the Kosovo issue once forever.

“Serbs in Kosovo stand ready to continue with their government of Serbia and the President Aleksandar Vucic, to courageously move forward, so that our children can live well and free without fear anytime they go to the neighbours (Albanians) in the store, to a football match or anywhere else,” reads the statement by the office of Deputy Prime Minister in office in the Kosovo government, Branimir Stojanovic.

Kosovo Serb citizens also welcomed the idea of Serbian President to resolve issues between Kosovo and Serbia once forever.

Serb citizens living in Gracanica/Graçanicë say that since 1999 a new reality has been in Kosovo and that this is already known by Serbs in Kosovo, those in Serbia, but also by Serbian leaders. According to them, the president of Serbia is the ideal man to define relations between the two countries once forever.

“It is good that this issue is done now than 100 years after. Kosovo and Serbia must overcome the barriers they have, not to create obstacles to each other on their way to membership, including membership in various regional and international organizations. It is good to accept Kosovo, a country that has already been recognized by more than 114 countries of the world. Reality is a reality and we can no longer live in myths,” a citizen emphasised.

Other residents of this municipality say that Kosovo’s recognition from Serbia and latest Serbia’s positions toward Kosovo have another address. According to them, it is the United States of America those that decided about this.

“This does not depend on either the Serbs or Albanians. We have nothing in our hands, this is America’s deal. Whatever they think, that is going to happen, life was better than it is now, both Albanians and Serbs know this,” another citizen stressed.

In the meantime, Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi stated that dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels should end with recognition of the two countries.
