UN Secretary General, (UNSG) António Guterres latest report on the work of UNMIK and the situation in Kosovo would be debated today at the UN Security Council session, RTS reported.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic would represent Serbia.

Dacic in his speech, would also make a review of the report by the UNSG Guterres on the work of UNMIK, during the period of 16th April to 15th July this year, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia said in a statement.

Participation in the UN Security Session would be an opportunity for Dacic to meet the UNSG, Guterres and Chairman of the Security Council in August, permanent representative of Egypt at the UN.

UNSG, Guterres assessed in the latest report that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is facing serious challenges, warning there is no sufficient progress, including the Association of the Serb Municipalities, and called upon the both sides to revive the process.

“I encourage commitment to the principle that disagreements must be resolved by peaceful means exclusively. I call upon those who would establish a new Kosovo Government to govern responsibly, and future opposition to work constructively toward promotion of transparency and accountability. The rule of law and its impartial implementation is a cornerstone of every democratic society,” UNSG Gueterrs said in a quarterly report that we would be debated about at the UN Security Council session in New York.
