The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said that delay on shedding light on the missing persons is unacceptable.
“I was and will remain engaged on the issue of the missing in order for it to conclude soon and in a fair manner. I will personally engage to shed light on the fate of the missing and close this chapter,” President Thaci said.
He made these comments during his speech at conference organized by the Resource Center for the Missing Persons, that is being held in Pristina.
He also said that he is aware of the challenges of identifying the mortal remains of the missing and that the pain of the families who are waiting for almost two decades for their family members, is understandable.
“The issue of the missing persons requires maturity, patience and compassion,” Thaci said.
According to him, every initiative of the family members or anyone else, will have institutional and his support on shedding light on the fate of the missing.
