The Government of the Republic of Kosovo issued a press release condemning the forceful removal of the UCPMB monument in downtown Presevo and called on all Kosovo citizens and Albanians in Presevo Valley “to be mature in their reactions vis-à-vis the uncivilized actions of the Serbian Government”.
“Any violent act of damaging the graves of the Serb community is in full violation with the tradition and laws of Kosovo, with Kosovo’s institutional commitment to promote European civilized values and in full opposition with the legitimate interests of Albanians in Presevo Valley,” added the press release.
Law enforcement authorities have reported that a number of Serb Orthodox graves were desecrated in several parts of Kosovo.
