“There are expectations that the new Kosovo Government would deliver concrete results when it comes to Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. Now, when Kosovo finally has a new government, we would like to see it implements those issues and decisions that can be only decided upon in Kosovo, stated chair of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee and rapporteur for Serbia, David McAllister, RTK2 reported.

McAllister made these remarks during the meeting with the Serbian Minister for European Integration, Jadranka Joksimovic, who is paying a two-day visit to Brussels.

“It is upon Serbia and Kosovo to agree about particular steps ahead, but it is not only about agreeing on such steps. It is needed to implement things that we have agreed about. There are some things Serbia should do, but to underline, there are things that Kosovo should do as well,” McAllister said, without mentioning precisely what are these things about.

He called upon Belgrade and Pristina to “despite differences” work concretely on the ground.

“Let’s continue the dialogue and let’s try to find the ways in order to continue normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade”.

McAllister also welcomed announced initiative on internal dialogue on Kosovo.

“I know this is a controversial topic for your country (Serbia) but I think it is important to have a debate not only among politicians, but also to include all spheres of the society,” he said adding that “the approach of the president certainly goes in a good direction,” RTK2 reported.
