In northern Mitrovica, the number of people suffering from measles is growing, and the epidemic has been declared, reports TV Most.

Since last week, the number of patients, according to the data from the infectious department, has risen from 14 to over 70 people.

The Specialist Doctor in infectious diseases, Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Clinical Center Mitrovica North, Danica Radomirovic, says that the number of patients is growing and that these are no longer cases of the Roma population as it was at the beginning.

“Now, there are patients from all over Kosovo and those who did not have contacts with the Roma, and they come from Mitrovica, Zvecan, Priluzje, Gracanica, Klokot Banja and other parts of Central Kosovo, so the number of people who were ill from one week ago, as of today, rose to more than 70.”
