Yesterday began the celebration of the Anti-Corruption Week in Kosovo by the press conference of the ambassadors of the Quintus countries. Journalists of the Serbian media who followed this event were left without the translation, reports Kossev.
In Kosovo, for the second year in a row, a week dedicated to the fight against corruption is organized, which, with the support of the US Embassy and USAID, is organized by a coalition of non-governmental organizations.
Unlike last year, when translation from English into Serbian and Albanian was not provided, yesterday only the journalists of Serbian media were deprived of the right guaranteed by the Kosovo Constitution, Kossev says.
Also, brochures that were printed to inform journalists about events to be organized this week are available in Albanian and English only.
The US Embassy cites for RTK2 that a mistake was made by not providing the translation into Serbian during the activity of the “Anti-Corruption Week”.
“This is our omission and we asked the Non-Governmental Organization coalition that conducts “Week Against Corruption” to ensure that the translation is provided into Serbian language on Tuesday and throughout the week,” the statement of the US Embassy says.
