Kosovo’s State Chief Prosecutor, Aleksander Lumezi, reacted today after Pristina-based KTV broadcasted on Monday phone taps among senior Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) officials, mentioning Lumezi. Lumezi denied having ties with the PDK and said the efforts against him are destined to fail. He also claimed that “behind the attacks are structured criminal groups that have been attacked recently and their cooperation with the above-mentioned media [KTV] is part of an unprincipled coalition and a coalition of interests”. Lumezi also said the State Prosecution will intensify the fight against crime “and such attacks will not hamper our commitment, on the contrary they will strengthen our determination to combat and uproot crime and bring all perpetrators to justice”.
