All online media cover today’s meeting of the Preparatory Team for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, chaired by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci. Thaci said two decades after the war, there are still open wounds among Kosovo’s citizens. “We know that the steps we take before the commission is formed are crucial. Work has just begun, therefore, your support and engagement will be needed in the coming days. We had the same dilemmas and concerns as you, but we also have full faith in this initiative … I have formed the commission so that we can close the chapter of war and open the chapter of peace for the new generations. We must not allow the pains of war to occur again. What we want to achieve is a unified narrative about our past,” Thaci said. The preparatory team consists of nine members, five representatives of civil society and four representatives of state institutions.
