The Commission for the Rights and Interests of Communities and Return, chaired by Igor Simic, President of the Commission, held a session on which the main item on the agenda was the consideration of the Draft Law on the Budget for 2018 and in connection to budgetary allocations for the Ministry of Community and Return, reports KIM radio.

Minister of Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtic says that by a draft of the budget for 2018 for the needs of the Ministry of Communities and Returns is intended for a total of 6,900,000 euros. For projects for displaced persons, a total of 1,000,000 euros have been allocated. For capital investments, that is, for various projects for returnees (primarily for the construction of houses), a total of EUR 2.400.000 has been set aside, while the remainder of the amount of EUR 3.500.000 is intended for infrastructure and for various other needs.

Jevtic said that he believes that the next year will be better because the budget of the Ministry is significantly higher and invited all institutions to join the return process.

“We will try to implement projects that we have not managed to realize in the year due to budget problems. If we take into account that in 2017 we had 343 returnees, this fact shows that this year was indeed with a lot of problems. All together, we must demand that every institution, every government body must equally help,” Jevtic emphasizes.
