Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, said today that dialogue is the only alternative for resolving open issues. During a debate organized by the Kosovo Democratic Institute on dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and the Assembly’s role in the process, Veseli said he knows the path of conflict because he was part of the liberation war but that at the time dialogue was not accepted as a solution. Veseli said dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has produced numerous results and problems because the Serbian state continues to create many obstacles by spending tens of millions of euros in parallel structures that try to impede Kosovo’s sovereignty. “Kosovo today needs a broad-based political consensus and participation in dialogue. We must not engage in an internal political fight but stand united and move toward strengthening our state and Euro-Atlantic integration. One thing is certain: Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, determined to move forward alongside our Western allies and to create a stable future for our people,” Veseli said.
